History & Information

Kola Nuts (Cola Nitida, Cola Acuminata) are important in many African societies, particularly in the western region.
Legends tell besides the fact that they contain high amounts of caffeine and act as a euphoriating stimulant and anti-depressant, they are also thought to reduce fatigue and hunger, aid digestion, and work as an aphrodisiac.

Kola nuts were consumed by Tribesmen by breaking them open into pieces, then chewing the particles as one would chew gum. Believe it or not, it was told that Kola Nut was actually given to actor Bruce Willis in the recent movie Tears of the Sun by an African tribeswoman, to help with his pain and exhaustion (in the movie).

The flavor of this exotic nut is said to be very pleasurable and tasty. It is said that the stimulant effect having one or more pieces of the nuts in your mouth at a time can be very powerful, and ultimately cause a great euphoria, feeling of well being, and enhanced state of awareness it is said.
